Disclaimer etc: I don't own CATS. This is a non profit fan & fun site, just because I love it :) Pictures really belong to the RUG; the pictures and graphics here are either made by me or I got them free with permission from other wonderful people to whom I am very grateful! (see credits)
Original ideas, fanfic, fanpics, etc belong to their respective creators. Do not use these on your own site without permission and obviously don't steal and claim them as your own!! But just ask, and you generally shall recieve :)
Little Words started in 2002: A kind of vague depression settled around us after CATS closed in London. It drew us closer in a way; I remember all the sad poems on fanfiction.net, people bidding farewell; and the enthusiastic and kind and tearful reviews. Even for those who had never seen it live there was the reassurance of it being there, and the dream the some day you'd hitch hike over and busk in Covent Garden for tickets and feel the magic again... And now - let's feel determination and be thankful for what we have. It's NOT the end of forever yet! We've got the continuation of the Tours to look forward to (and I know I hope that that'll raise enough interest to cause a revival in Broadway/West End!!). And - just as important if not more - we've got each other. The fans. The obsessees. The weird kind of wonderful community we've built for ourselves, spanning the globe. Just take a look around on the internet and you'll see that this fantastic musical is very much alive in more than just our memories! I believe it'll stay that way, no matter what. Care for each other. Welcome new fans! Keep the love alive~
It's been a while... I've been around and in love with CATS for a long time now. I've changed, I've made many, many friends... some of whom have faded away from the internet later :( Looking around at sites, looking around at my site I can see how much I've grown and changed - but I'm still the same in many ways. And you know, I'm not even sure what my point is here - except that I still feel nostalgic and closely achy and needy sometimes. And that I've experienced so much love and everything from CATS... It's been the most brilliant thing!
I love CATS. It truly has made a huge difference to my life - however silly you may think that sounds, it's true. It's something immensely powerful and inspiring; releasing, moving and purely fun! Practically it got me writing again, it started my attempts at art, it rekindled my stage-passion, and threw me back head-over-heels in love with music... The story (much critiqued as non-existant, hehe!) is life-affirming, joyous and ultimately teaches forgiveness and compassion: surely things we all need to hold onto now. A simple musical, a night's entertainment, a teenage refuge, something to make you go "eeee!" on a bad day. Not everyone's cup of tea, of course; but for me and so many others, CATS can really inspire a passion, and quite literally change your life. ^__________^
So... this is my site to pay tribute, have fun, and showcase just a few of the cool things that the Jellicle spirit in us has inspired!!
