Media and Theatre
2013 Student Film A mix of the romantic and the eerie on this.
Origin Independent RPG being developed by Emmy Barr. Music in the style of rightly famous 1990s Final Fantasy soundtracks! Without pastiching absolutely, I have imposed interesting constraints like limiting the number and quality of the sounds to fit with that style and with the 16-bit graphics...
For fun, I'm also working on piano transcriptions mimicing the style/appearance of the DOREMI editions...
The Graveyard Slot (2012) Overture, incidental piano music and a cabaret song (music and lyrics) for a "live radio play"
Stockings by the Fire: Cabaret (2011)
Arrangements of Gaudete, Shchendryk and Christmas carols for voices and toy instruments.
The Green Deal (2011) Promotional film by Adam Tyler
Twelfth Night (2011) Twelfth Night in the jazz era. Six songs from the play or sonnets. I worked with James Horsburgh (bassist in the original band) on three of them.
Metamorphoses: Fables from Ovid (2011) Composed an opening "Invocation".
Kingsmeadow (2011) A very cinematic, dreamy style documentary around one day of a local football club and the surround community. Eight tracks of post-prog-ambient-moving-towards-full-orchestral(!) music underpinned most of the piece.
A Hallowe'en Cabaret (2010)
For which I arranged in the Hall of the Mountain King (or "The Alton Towers Theme"...) for voices!
In Flux (2010)
Short film by Bristol University Drama Department. I wrote a short piece for the end sequence.
UKYCC Stories 1-5 (2010) A series of web documentaries about the UK Youth Climate Coalition delegation to Copenhagen in December 2009.
MONDAY (2009) A dark short student film about a hostage situation. Minimal orchestra and sound design, quite action/suspense film/TV.
PantoSoc Presents: Treasure Island (2009)
Transcriptions/arrangements of music and songs for theatre band
hearts & minds (2009) A feature length student film which I worked on together with three other composers (I wrote half an hour of music). Directed by Adam Tyler, who also did Kingsmeadow and Monday, and there are links in the style between all three scores.
What's In The Box? (2008) Short film by Haruka Furuya: "Why learn languages?"
