This is a page for putting miscellaneous things! Some of them very old ^^
Time Waits For Noone - So, uh, um, right, this is a mashup. I do mashups now, apparently. (Well, my idea of them, which is maybe a bit different than sometimes.) It is a mashup of Time Is Running Out (Muse) and What You Waiting For (Gwen Stefani!!). ... I make no apology, it had to be done! Also there are a few bits from Pink Floyd's Time which also seemed apropos. August 2011
Coldplay thing Here is a thing that sounds a little bit like Coldplay.
Tuxedo Jingle - Arrangement (...mashup!) of Tuxedo Junction and Jingle Bells for school band! Midi.
I Just Can't Wait To Be King - That song arranged for the same school band to play. It went pretty well on the night!
.....I dunno why I'm suddenly posting all these random arrangements -- if it comes to that, there's a bunch of stuff arranged for (a very specific) theatre band that I did for the Treasure Island panto over here... If anyone needs music for PotC, Muppet's Treasure Island, I'll Make a Man Out of You, Sailor's Hornpipe and various other things, piratical and otherwise, feel free to use and please drop me a line!
First Haiku - early version - I absolutely love the sax sound on this -- it's so soft and mournful and James plays beautifully and you can hear key clicks and breathing and everything -- but we only recorded the first half that day (that's all I had written by then I think!), and I never ever managed to quite recreate the conditions to get the sax sounding like this again. Well, anyway, my studio tutor would never have let me get away with this much reverb! (BUT I LOVE IT. I use it very consciously!)
For those with little time...
Orchestral demo clips / Non-orchestral demo clips
...Or, for those of you with more time, a fun 'guess the tune' exercise! XD Although there is the odd piece included here that hasn't appeared anywhere else on this site! *gasp* bonus!!
Romantic theme - this is an excessively romantic theme that bursts through in the middle of a fight scene! Unfortunately I so far haven't written the fighting bit yet. This was to be one of my ASCAP entries, and so written in a great hurry and sadly abandoned (for now!) when I couldn't finish it in two days.
ending piano theme - ...what it says on the tin! An improvisatory, melancholy piano+pad thing that sounds like the end of an episode or something. This was January or sometime, but I just re-found it.
POTC oboe - me playing the oboe theme from 'I See Dead People In Boats' from the POTC3 soundtrack by Hans Zimmer. I hadn't played the oboe in about ONE YEAR and realised how much I missed/liked it :)
Small Two of Pieces - me singing the beginning of the most bizarrely named and beautiful song (from Xenogears). I made the 'karaoke' very hastily from a midi as no official karaoke exists.
Secret - I made this in an hour or so one night when I was Not Revising for exams... 'Tis pretty and has a vibraphone (supposed to be a marimba but I don't have a good sound of one of those) as inspired by Matthew.
Close to Love The early, incomplete recording.
Flow my tears by John Dowland - Just a version of a song I came across at AS Level or something, with some nice soundfonts I'd recently found. Dowland. This is like... Elizabethan angst to the max!!! And I really love it. The lyrics can be found here.
This is a pop (VERY poppy!) song I wrote but I will maybe/probably never sing. So... it's a karaoke version of a song no one knows! It's rather happy and jolly and I like it for that.
Alphanumeric karaoke - And this is a karaoke to an actual song! Yay. Albeit still a song that... very few people will know. It's the song Dot sings in the ReBoot episode Talent Night! ReBoot ROCKS, by the way! You must watch it!! Anyway, I love ReBoot and this song is fun fun and not difficult, so I made a karaoke of it! Lyrics can be found here...
And this is me singing "Yubiwa" by Yoko Kanno (from Escaflowne) and grievously abusing pitch correction to amusing effect!! ^___^ (And this is a more normal version ^^; Please note that the original singer of this song was Maaya Sakamoto and NOT ME!! (...No, I don't know how it is possible confuse us, but unfortunately it has been done ^^;;;; 2005
This is called "The Magical Monkey of Merngue", written at my brother's request in 2003 or something, and exactly 52 seconds long. It's part of the "time trials" section I used to have on my music page but it got lost somewhere and now it's found!
Waaa~! You Broke The Battle Machine!!
These are the girls from my
imaginary game, Shadows of Fortune II :)
Cerre, Zinnie, Liara.
