What if FFVI’s Edgar and Sabin’s Figaro Castle/Coin Song in the style of Lord of the Rings, particularly The King of the Golden Hall?
Bit of a self-indulgent film orchestration exercise 😀 With a little of Terra’s Theme in there too. The instrument is a Hardanger fiddle (hardingfele), though I’m afraid I haven’t worried about writing particularly idiomatically for it.
A commission — imagine an opening theme/screen for an epic story of characters in a world broken apart by magic.

this is better!! gussied up version of earlier, which in itself is an orchestration/accompaniment to an oboe tune.
musical/technical note: I think I have succeeded in a basic way with some more flexible, expansive rhythms between the parts at least at this slow speed…

All the musical references are Polish…The rather oblique one is the shape of the start from this Chopin nocturne, very loosely.
sad soundtrack strings, still very much in this kind of style but improved from earlier~ ‘ending’ because it sounds like the end sequence of a TV series ooor something, what do you think?
A Christmas gift
Extra-specially unabashedly pretty, feat. piano, obviously; referencing obliquely the 2005 Pride and Prejudice score, and, more definitely, Beethoven Emperor movement 2.
I feel like I’ve been very timid lately and that’s a shame, because this was from 2010 and Terra’s Theme (plus some other bits) in the style of the Moulin Rouge tango. Never finished alas, but I was clearly having so much fun here.
Very pretty and very influenced by Loch Lomond Scottish folk music. (I may have gone a little OTT, but who cares? fun with recording recorders.)
