ABYSS international release (game music and SFX)

Delighted to finally be able to share the game I was working on over the winter. ‘Abyss’ is the second project I worked for Titans Entertainment on, after Mythicland, this time contributing seven soundtrack pieces and also 100+ sound effects, including everything you hear in the intro video. Here’s that and some gameplay!

Find out more and download the game from the homepage here.

And hey, if you play and get to any other boss fights, why not take a video? There are three different boss battle themes in there somewhere…

Mythicland Trailer

Aha! The trailer for Mythicland is now up on youtube. I did the music and sound effects for this last year:

I’ve been busy working on something again lately which hopefully I’ll be able to share soon — why I’ve been kind of inactive on here. I have snuck in some time for some more Crisis Core demakes though, and a music box, over on youtube.

Happy new year everyone!

Gacha game music ~

Excited to finally be able to share something I’d been working on over the summer and early autumn: music, and also sound design.

I believe you can actually play this game worldwide … but it is in Chinese so you might not get quite so much out of it if you don’t read Chinese!

I composed the two battle themes and the main/town background music, along with the sound design you’ll hear in the gacha roll part (see 9:41 in this gameplay video.)

And here you can hear a bit of the other battle theme which I think goes with player vs player battles and I haven’t seen in a gameplay video yet, but it’s fairly epic:

Trailer: Facebook has slightly completely destroyed the sound quality, but here is the trailer which contains a new musical theme and sound effects.

A Tale for the Journey…

Tracks 1-5
Tracks 6-10

It was my birthday at the end of June!

To celebrate that week, I worked on or finished up a little set of RPG tracks in my most favourite, most relaxed style. I mean I worked on all but 3-4 of them in a very relaxed, indulgent way, just playing back and back via Logic and adding things where I thought they should go. Honestly that’s something I do fairly often, but in usual circumstances I’d likely also start with a sketch or something a bit more intentional — often more efficient, but I definitely still ended up with some fun stuff!

Also I’ve been using and enjoying the Digital Sound Factory sounds — I got an upgrade to the Kontakt version of their Proteus 1-2-3/Orbit/Planet Phatt set and it really was worth it! …though I was happily loading up enough instruments that I did realise that also each of them is incredibly lightweight (kilobytes), multiple instances of Komplete Kontrol are not.

Anyway.

Above is the set to listen to on YouTube.

And here it is to get on itch.io to add to your game!

And here’s some of the cover/concept art that I generated with craiyon by asking it to mimic Amano’s style!
