A fine collection of Jellicle Literature. ...And my stuff ;) If you read something you love, send an email to the author!
Everything here would be rated approximately 'G' or 'PG' unless I've noted otherwise.
Never Once More (681 words)
CT wrote this somewhat in response to the recent tragedies in the world. A very short story, but intensely emotional nonetheless.
The True Alumnus of Hell (8458 words)
A sharply rendered story of an enigma and his life falling apart. It's almost heart breaking in places, and I love the end. Daniel's always so good at making me look at characters in a different way.
The True Alumnus of Hell 2 (4233 words)
aniel masterfully continues the life of one very multi-faceted cat. This time, the story is brought to closure by the end, and we get more lovely touches in the characters (I love Mungojerrie! *squeals* And Misto is just wonderful.)
Alright (1629 words)
This came from a suggestion from the pairing gen ... It's Tugger/Demeter. Sort of. Not a happy story. PG-13?
December 2006.
Ashes (1040 words)
Grizabella, pre-show. Angst and more angst. July 2002.
Black Porcelain (3054 words)
Something from Cassandra's point of view, to explore her feelings for a change. Quite depressing and dark but with a sort of happy ending... November
2001. And in 2003, Moonbeamdancer made me a cover specially for this fic!
CATS Tour '06 Drabbles (574 words)
Just a couple doodles inspired by the (wonderful) portrayals of the Jellicles I saw on the UK Tour... December 2006, January 2007
Couple of Cats (10,527 words)
Simply a version of the story of Mungojerrie and Rumpelteazer.
I always have loved these two, and there's a lot to write about them! October 2001-January 2002
Can it Be? (1088 words)
Macavity just wanted some peace and quiet. What he got
was... Jemima. A very silly story. August 2003
The jellicle_girl Chronicles: by JestaAriadne.
1. jellicle_girl's 1st CATS
fanfic... October 2001
2. jellicle_girl's
2nd CATS fanfic October 2001
3. jellicle_girl's
Christmas Carol Concert Christmas Eve Eve (Dec 23rd!)
2001
More silliness! My take on the whole cats-meet-author thing. Come on, everyone has to do one or two ;)
Life's Not Fair (1992 words)
In which I, JestaAriadne, attempt to defend Macavty from certain charges leveled against him. I do not do particularly well. Even more silliness!
Feb 2002
A Short Story about Munkustrap and Demeter! (1371 words)
and Another Short Story about Munkustrap and Demeter and Also Macavity (3409 words)
Teehee. And now, a different, more pretentious style of silliness! (I love this stuff.) January 2002
More Munkustrap and Demeter Moments (3216 words)
Not quite in the same continuity as the above, but rather in the same (SILLY) vein! April 2003
Morning (987 words)
Written for a Jellicle Moon challenge. A destroyed warlord, blood and tears and loneliness. Angst, and allusions to violence. Owes quite a bit to Daniel and to Yuffie V's Shards in the Alley ♥ Sept 2003
Not Quickly Broken (2599 words)
Munkustrap and Bombalurina try to hold things together after Demeter reappears. Inspired, again, by the Tour, and also by a bit from Ecclesiastes (see title) that I thought rather suited this trio. Some of the content might warrant a PG-13 rating. 2007
Skyline ~
part 2 (18,216 words)
Rumpelteazer tries to come to terms with her suddenly shattered life. There's obviously a fair bit of drama and angst to be found here, but some humour too. I really enjoyed writing inside Teazer's head with this :) Nov 2002-Feb 2003
Summer Skies (3954 words)
Happy, sappy, silly story about the kittens and a lazy day in
summer. I tend to miss the sunshine when it's not around! Ridiculously romantical and a little
pointless, but a lot of fun :) February 2002.
Victoria's Snow (1838 words)
A very old but rather intense little story of mine. Victoria, lost and confused, must choose where she belongs. Rated PG-13 for some dark subject matter.
October 2001
with direct eyes, to death's other kingdom (1721 words)
This one's a little hard to describe. PG-13 for allusions to violence. August 2007
Without a Smile (1992 words)
Nemble sent me a challenge: a rather unusual couple. It begins with Rumpelteazer, who feels a little out-of-sorts, and not quite so simply cheerful as she might seem. December 2001
Scars of a Tightrope Walker ~ part 2 (23,804 words)
Once involved with the Hidden Paw, it's very hard to break free again... A brilliantly engaging story - centred on Mungo but masterfully including so many characters so well. Dramatic, humorous and soo adorable by turns; it's a long read, but the sort that if it were a book I'd say it was "unputdownable" or something! ^^
Confessions of a Criminal Cat
The first in this series of wonderfully silly poems Lina
wrote shortly after becoming a CATS obsessee! Macavity has a very embarrassing
secret...
Complaints about Jennyanydots
By Tabitha Mouse. Ever wondered if those mice actually wanted to
be civilised?
Exotica
I just love the rhyme scheme...!!
Flippety Flee
*giggle* This almost sounds like A.A. Milne!
Grumbly Cat
By an Anonymous Mouse. In a similar vein to "Complaints"... a new
version of Jenny's song!
Macavity's Brother
...and the rest of his (interestingly named!) family!
Nasty Jennyanydots
...those mice ain't done complaining yet!
Love Stories (6036 words)
This has to be one of the most likeable and yet believable portrayals of Tugger I've read. PG-13 for language.
Silver, Gold and Ruby ~ part 2 (27,011 words)
Simply an absolute classic of CATS literature, or it at least should be! A couple years in the life of all the Jellicles, focusing especially on Admetus, Munkustrap and Demeter. With great characterization of so many different cats, this made me laugh *and* cry. PG-13.
This Explains Everything (1963 words)
A wonderful short story starring some of my favourite and less used characters. I love it all, especially all the dialogue! And it was written for me after Meg looked at the Rumpus Cat tribute I had on my old site! *glows*
Time Passes By (1886 words)
Asparagus remembers... This is a lovely, sad, wistful piece dealing with some of the more overlooked characters including Bustopher, Jellylorum and of course Asparagus himself.
CindeRumpelteazer (2595 words)
An even more than usually messed up fairytale :D with our favourite Jellicles in the main parts and two rival story tellers- Nemble and her Evil Twin. Hilarious.
Sleeping Beauty (2872 words)
Nemble returns (along with her evil twin!) to tell this, um, new version of the familiar story! Remember: beware the deadly Thingummy!!
Bombalurina's Surprise (4306 words)
Nemble's summary: "...Every year on the Internet, fanfiction authors write millions of stories. This is one of them."
The Crumb (4248 words)
Her simply stunning debut into the world of CATSfic. (And also, incidentally, a birthday present for me ♥) This. Is. Hilarious - it WILL have you in stitches!!
What's Macavity's latest plan? From her own summary: "Problems
occur for the Jellicles when Macavity eats the Jellicle Moon..."
Of Heaven and Hell (2878 words)
I enthused to Pounce so much about this fic! It is just incredibly moving. Tumblebrutus' story: emotions and experiences after a death... (Also, may I note, an example of how to successfully incorporate of song lyrics into a story!)I have actually cried reading this.
Someday (1012 words)
Completely wonderful short piece from Pouncival's POV. He can't so totally silly and happy the whole time... Very honest - so nice to see Pounce with a real character.
Then Ghengis Gave the Signal... (1311 words)
A very original and well-written take on the whole "Growltiger Situation". With a great twist at the end. PG-13.
The Heaviside Layer Series - Jennyanydots (825 words)
A rather short-tempered Jenny is very interested in being chosen for the Heaviside Layer
this year, but things obviously don't go quite to plan...
Is This Love? (4208 words)
A wonderful, wonderful portrayal of Munk and Dem and their relationship, through Demeter's eyes. Triri called it just a piece of fluff, but it's nothing at all so cliché. Depth of character and squeee-making both!
Of Passion and Compassion (13,006 words)
Another of my favourite-ever-Tugger-stories ;) In this story of his life, his past, his choices and how someone special comes into his life, he's somewhat troubled, totally believable and ultimately loveable. Many other Jellicles are also beautiful characterised.
