FanFic & Poetry

This is certainly one of the biggest and best bits of this site :) There are now more than SIXTY fanfics and poems up 'ere!! Hehe. A tribute to the fandom... I'm very proud and grateful to display so many people's awesome work. A big thank you to everyone who's let me put their fics here!

Carbuckettycue and Company: The Original by Carbuckettycue. Carbuckettycue attempts to get the Jellicles to put on a play... nope, they STILL don't want to. Gotta love the random details like *giggles* the Hat! Romantic closure!! *ahem*

Ahh, the joys of falling in love... by Chibi Teazer. An oh-so sweet story about Mungo & Teazer. Simply adorable, and starring, of course, in CT''s words: "the cutest kitty couple ever!"...so true!

Tantolina by Chibi Teazer. Mad and hiliarious parody: CATS/Thumbelina! Yes, it seems to be a recipe for disaster, but in goes CT... bravely at least! (You do start to feel sorry for poor Munku after a while...!)

Little Red Riding Bombi by Chibi Teazer. After the, er, success of Tantolina, someone's got this crazy idea of putting on another play, for the kittens this time! Just wait till you find out what Bombi gets to ride on :)

Never Once More by Chibi Teazer. In a far more serious style than most of her other stories, written somewhat in response to recent tragedies in the world. Beautiful, lingering, and so so sad.

Ulysses by Daniel. Centring on the mysterious "Ulysses"; who he is and the role he had to play. I'm just going to steal the author's summary because I think it's rather good: A story of vengeance and redemption...

The True Alumnus of Hell by Daniel. A sharply rendered story of an enigma and his life falling apart. It's almost heart breaking in places, and I love the end. Daniel's always so good at making me look at characters in a different way.

Avenged by Daniel. A songfic that fits into the timeline of The True Alumnus (read that first!) - lost loved ones must be avenged.....

The True Alumnus of Hell 2 by Daniel. Daniel masterfully continues the life of one very multi-faceted cat. This time, the story is brought to closure by the end, and we get more lovely touches in the characters (more Mungojerrie has got to be good!)... And Misto is just wonderful. :)

Plato's Story by Daniel. Good stories about Plato are so rare... This is cleverly written and a really good exploration of this elusive character in his loneliness and love.

In Meditation by Daniel. Extremely heartfelt and powerful narration from the point of view of one seemingly unnoticed character... (who I am really coming to love thanks to Daniel ^^)

Contemplation by Daniel. More thoughts after In Meditation (All of Daniel's fics so far seem to have one continuity - quite special indeed.) Near the edge now, what next...?

Alright by JestaAriadne. The random pairing generator gave me Tugger/Demeter. I thought too hard about this. It's rather angsty and melodramatic maybe, but I'm trying to get back into writing ^^; December 2006.

Ashes by JestaAriadne. Short vignette. Angst, angst and more angst. Grizabella. What did you expect? July 2002.

FadeAway by JestaAriadne. Is it true that all good things have to end? 'Nother short angsty vignette. Electra's lonely, and looking back. It was based (rather loosely, or not) on me feeling sad that a lot of old friends and CATSfans seemed to be disappearing... but, as always, a new day has begun ^_^ January 2003

I Tell You: Jemima speaks up by JestaAriadne. ...my first fic that I'm letting anyone see ever... Heh... Jemima's found out about her parents (a premise I thought highly original at the time - how wrong I was!) I've never really agreed with Jemima being so totally "naive". September 2001

Morning by JestaAriadne. A vignette for a certain Jellicle Moon challenge... A destroyed warlord, blood and tears and loneliness - Jemima's PoV, reflective and a bit angsty. Owes quite a bit to Daniel and to Yuffie V's Shards in the Alley. Sept 2003

Not Quickly Broken by JestaAriadne. Munkustrap and Bombalurina try to hold things together after Demeter reappears. Inspired, again, by the Tour a bit, and also by a bit from Ecclesiastes (whence the title of this ficcy came...) that I thought rather suited this trio. 2007

| Skyline | 2 | by JestaAriadne. Hee, the big fic. Rumpelteazer tells her story. Of life, love, death, Mungo and anything else that seems important after an accident shatters her life. Lotsa angst and that, but this being Teazer, she tries to keep smiling, so a bit of humour now and again too. Nov 2002-Feb 2003

Summer Skies by JestaAriadne. Happy, sappy, silly story about the kittens and a lazy day in summer. I miss the sun!! Hopelessly romantic and a little pointless, but a lot of fun :) February 2002.

Victoria's Snow by JestaAriadne. Challenging the white/snow/Vic cliché. A very lost Victoria has to choose where she belongs. Maybe a warning here for allusions to suicide. October 2001

Without a Smile by JestaAriadne. Nemble sent me a challenge - a rather unusual couple. So... Rumpelteazer's feeling completely mixed up - not as simple and cheerful as everyone thinks. And there's someone else who feels stuck in a stereotype too... December 2001

Scars of a Tightrope Walker | 2 | by Julianna. Mungojerrie. Rumpelteazer. Macavity. Once involved with the Hidden Paw, it's very hard to break free again... A brilliantly engaging story - centred on Mungo but masterfully including so many characters so well. Dramatic, humorous and soo adorable by turns; it's a long read, but the sort that if it were a book I'd say it was "unputdownable" or something! ^^

Confessions of a Criminal Cat by Lina The first in this series of wonderfully silly poems Lina wrote shortly after becoming a CATS obsessee! (that was COMPLETELY my fault I'm proud to say!!) Macavity has a very embarrassing secret...

Complaints about Jennyanydots by ...Tabitha Mouse! Ever wondered if those mice actually wanted to be civilised?

Exotica by Lina. Um, I just love the rhyme scheme...!!

Flippety Flee by Lina. *giggle* Almost sounds like A.A. Milne!

Grumbly Cat by Anon. In a similar vein to "Complaints"... This is a new version of Jenny's song!

Macavity's Brother by Lina. ...and the rest of his (interestingly named!) family!

Nasty Jennyanydots by Lina. ...those mice ain't done complaining yet!

Persetcetera by Lina. A play of sorts this time! and a completely, totally, absolutely... -you get my drift?-... crazy, random and hilarious one. The two great worlds of Greek mythology and CATS collide, with rather strange results! (think Munkustrap in a toga!)

Beauty and the Beast | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7 | by Lina. A CATS Panto! Lina makes another brave, if misguided, attempt to bring out the Jellicles' theatrical skills... Much hilarity ensues! Monty Python is much quoted! And Munkustrap cross-dresses! (no surprises there...!)

Love Stories by Megera Tugger having difficulty with the love life? New feelings for a certain queen seem to be developing, but of course the poor guy has no idea what to do... One of the most likeable and yet believable portrayals of Tug I've read!

Silver, Gold and Ruby | 2 by Megera Simply an absolute classic of CATS literature, or it at least should be! A year or so in the life of all the jellicles, focusing especially on Munkustrap and Demeter. This is the way to write a classic storyline. Great characterization of so many different cats... Made me laugh *and* cry.

This Explains Everything by Megera Great story starring some of my favourite and less used characters. I love it all, especially all the dialogue! Written for me cos of the Rumpus Cat Tribute!! *glows*. Pounce is more than a little annoyed with being pushed around and... well, this is what happens next!

Time Passes By by Megera Asparagus remembers... This is quite a sad, wistful (and wonderful!) piece dealing with some of the more overlooked characters including Bustopher, Jellylorum and of course Asparagus himself.

CindeRumpelteazer By Nemblewhiska. Hmmm... guess what? An even more than usually messed up fairytale :D with our favourite Jellicles in the main parts and two rival story tellers- Nemble and her Evil Twin. HILARIOUS! Big thanks, Nemble, for letting me post it here!

Sleeping Beauty by Nemblewhiska. The all-hail-queen-of-cats-fairytale-crossovers returns (with her evil twin...)! A totally hysterical, erm, version of the tale.... Remember: beware the deadly thingummy!!!

Bombalurina's Surprise by Nemblewhiska. "...Every year on the Internet, fanfiction authors write millions of stories. This is one of them." (XDDD)

The Crumb by Norbert For President. Norbert's simply stunning debut into the world of CATSfic. This. Is. Hilarious. - it WILL have you in stitches!! What's Macavity's latest plan? From her own summary: "Problems occur for the Jellicles when Macavity eats the Jellicle Moon..."

Of Heaven and Hell by Pouncikit. I think I may have enthused to insanity about this fic to Pounce over e-mail... But it is SO wonderful! Tumblebrutus' story, emotions and experiences after a death. Incredibly moving- I've cried reading this. (Also, may I note, an example of how to successfully incorporate of song lyrics into a story!)

Someday by Pouncikit. Completely wonderful short piece from Pouncival's POV. He can't so totally silly and happy the whole time... Very honest - so nice to see Pounce with a *real* character.

Then Ghengis Gave the Signal... by Pouncikit. A very original and well written take on the whole "Growltiger Situation"... Just you try and guess the ending!!

The Heaviside Layer Series- Jennyanydots by Rina<--- this is a link to her guestbook. An extremely annoyed Jenny... :) She's very interested in being chosen for the Heaviside Layer this year, but things obviously don't go quite to plan... Aside from showing a rather different side to Jenny, this is just SO funny...

Is This Love? by Trirarien. A wonderful, wonderful portrayal of Munk and Dem and their relationship, through Demeter's eyes. Such a great job exploring their characters - and it's nothing at all cliché. ...And Triri just calls it "fluff"!! Well, it does make me go "AWW!!".

Of Passion and Compassion by Tugger's Girl. Centring on Tugger straight after the ball- a totally believable and ultimately lovable Tugger here *hugs him* - his life, his past, his choices... and someone else but I'm not telling you who!!! :D This is beautifully written, including lovely characterization of so many other Jellicles too.

Slave to Love by Tugger's Girl. Sequel to the above! Er, I'm not too sure how to summarize without giving too much away about either ^^;; Tugger, someone-else-but-I'm-not-telling-you-who, and the Jellicles find themselves in danger in a strange place where things are definitely not what they seem...

Victoria's Encounters of the Eccles Kind!!!. (also titled "Bo.") By James A message from the author: "READ THIS NOW OR I WILL HUNT YOUR COMPUTER DOWN AND MURDER YOU WITH VIRUSES AND STUFF!" Ahem. This is an interesting little piece by my darling brother. Alternative summary: Victoria encounters a terrifying....... thingy!!!!

I'm not currently taking submissions of fanfics; I will just read around myself and ask to post what I want. That said, if you've got a fic you'd like me to read something then I'd be happy to do that :) Mail me!
